Startec, Inc. is an energy company conducting its operations primarily in the synfuel industry. The Company is in its 10th year of operation and currently manages the royalty revenue generated by the Section 29 Qualified Synfuel Systems installed in 1998.

MANAGEMENT TEAM EDWARD P. WHEELER
Mr. Wheeler currently serves as President/Treasurer of Startec, Inc. as well as its subsidiaries. He is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administrative and financial duties of the company. He also manages shareholder relations and coordinates legal issues involving the company.
Previously serving as a project engineer for multiple waste-to-energy projects, Mr. Wheeler has a lengthy track record of managing relations with federal, state and local government agencies on behalf of Startec. He has also led the site qualification process for the Company’s Section 29 program, including extensive testing, assembling and start-up operations for Section 29.
Mr. Wheeler attended the University of Notre Dame, Franklin University, and is a graduate of the Columbus Police Academy.
Mr. Wheeler is a veteran of the U.S. Army.

JOHN WILLIAM HOPPERS Mr. Hoppers currently serves as Secretary of the Board of Directors of Startec, Inc. Mr. Hoppers is a Partner with the law firm Strip, Hoppers, Leithart, McGrath & Terlecky LPA. Areas of concentration include Corporate matters, Insolvency, State Court Receivership, Business Planning and Formation & Estate Planning and Probate matters. Mr. Hoppers is a member of many Columbus Bar Association professional committees.
Mr. Hoppers is a former adjunct at Capital Law School (business law and basic tax introduction) and at the College of Dentistry of the Ohio State University, (lecturer on business law matters as related to the dental profession)
Mr. Hoppers is a graduate of The Ohio State University College of Law. He was admitted to practice law before Ohio Courts, Federal District Court for Southern District of Ohio, U.S. Supreme Court.
MARCO S. BURNETTE Mr. Burnette has over thirty six years experience as teacher, coach, counselor, assistant superintendent, and superintendent of a school district in Ohio. Following his career in education, Mr. Burnette spent six years as an account executive with Merrill Lynch, working with individual accounts, as division liaison of OTC trading, and as a specialist in government securities. He also served four years on the Barberton Board of education and has been a member of numerous civic organizations.

Mr. Burnette is a graduate of the University of Akron as well as The Ohio State University. He also attended Kent State University, the University of San Francisco and the New York Institute of Finance.
FRED FEAVER Mr. Feaver is a graduate of Bentley College in Waltham, Massachusetts. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He has been married to his wife Eleanor for 53 years. They have 3 children, 6 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. His career has included positions as a cost accountant for Janitrol Heating and Air Conditioning, a division of Midland-Ross Company, a systems analyst for Chemical Abstract Services, a computer programmer and designer for State Street Bank and Trust Company, Treasurer and Vice President of Halmar Divison of High Voltage Engineering Corporation, and CEO and Vice President of Ohio Semitronics.
Mr. Feaver is active in various community and church groups including: Junior Achievement, Chamber of Commerce Committees for International Finance Management, appointed by the U.S. Security of Commerce to the District Export Council for Ohio, served as chairman of the School Commission, deacon for the Grace Brethren Church of Worthington, Ohio and is past President and Director Emeritus for the National Amateur Baseball Federation.
MERLIN H. VALOT, JR. Mr. Valot is owner of MBV Consultants, working with Security Voice of Columbus, providing telecommunications products. He has over thirty years experience in public education, primarily as an administrator, as well as the superintendent of a large suburban school district. Mr. Valot has ten years experience with Kings Company, a provider of packaging for industrial customers, in industrial engineering and sales. Mr. Valot is active in many civic, professional and financial institutions and has served on numerous boards.
Mr. Valot is a graduate of Bethany College, Kent State University, and participated in the post-graduate program of Case-Western Reserve University.
Mr. Valot served in the U.S. Army.
DOUGLAS G. WARNER Mr. Warner currently serves as President of Porter Warner Industries, a large distributor to the casting industry. In addition to his current duties, Mr. Warner is a member of the Board for multiple organizations including board member and Finance Chairman of Warner Park Zoo as well as Honorary Chairman of the Warner Park Zoo Capital Campaign. He is honorary Chairman of the Salvation Army Capital Campaign. Mr. Warner also serves as Board member and Treasurer of Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Greater Chattanooga.
Mr. Warner has been the recipient of numerous awards such as, the American Foundry Society’s 1993 Service Citation, The Foundry Educational Foundation’s E.J. Walsh award, and the American Foundry Society’s Wm. J. Grede award.
Mr. Warner is a graduate of the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
